Xenophobia

Chi rallenta viene travolto.

We live lives made of electrons, stealing the time to ourselves.  We walk along empty road, where the crowd’s yell dins us. We stripped the future of its own past, chased the hope to stifle it. We keep hidden our dreams, since if not we would kill them. We are afraid of knowing, since who knows burden himself  of responsibility. We gratify our bodies, since we’re not anymore able to satisfy the spirit.

Who slows down is overwhelmed. The metal shrieks and the concrete  considers us silently. We find out metal grafts in our flesh and are surprise to have a soul. To stop at the edge of the road looking the world to pass by, just to be trampled and reassembled. A river of oil to grease our feelings, a thin red thread of  blood to link fathers and sons. We are unknown to each other.

The foreigner is among us, the xenos, the guest, the intruder.  The stranger is us, stranger to ourselves, stranger to our children, stranger to our partners. The walk becomes solitary, we have lost the communal path. It’s sad we must find solace in what shouldn’t exist, it’s bitter that are wrong practices to soothe our sorrow.

Nobody has ever thought us to love.
